Privacy Policy

Discreet is designed so private journal content remains on your iPhone. There is no account, advertising, tracking, analytics SDK, cloud journal service, or automatic telemetry upload.
Journal content
Journal entries, transcripts, reflections, and audio you choose to retain are stored in Discreet’s private local app container. CloudKit and iCloud journal synchronization are disabled. Discreet does not operate a server that receives this content.
Voice transcription
Voice entries are transcribed with Apple’s on-device Speech frameworks. Source audio is discarded by default. If you enable local audio retention in Settings, the recording remains associated with that entry on your device.
Weekly observations
On supported devices, weekly observations use Apple’s on-device Foundation Models framework. Discreet does not use a server or Private Cloud Compute fallback for journal reflections.
Diagnostics
Diagnostic logging is off by default and never sends data automatically. Logs include technical stages and error codes only—never journal or transcript text, reflections, prompts, audio, filenames, paths, database content, or device identifiers. If you explicitly email diagnostics, the sender address may identify you. Diagnostic emails are used only to investigate app functionality.
Permissions
- Microphone: used only while recording a voice entry.
- Speech Recognition: used to transcribe voice entries on device.
Third parties
Discreet contains no third-party SDKs, ads, or tracking technologies. Apple system frameworks and downloadable on-device model assets remain subject to Apple’s privacy terms.
Deleting data
You can delete journal entries in Discreet. Deleting the app removes its local app container, subject to normal iOS backup behavior controlled by you and Apple.
