Terms of Use

Effective July 26, 2026

These Terms of Use govern your use of Discreet, a private, voice-first journal for iPhone. By downloading, purchasing, or using Discreet, you agree to these terms and Apple’s applicable App Store terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

Using Discreet

You must be legally able to enter into these terms in your country or have permission from a parent or legal guardian. You are responsible for how you use the app and for complying with applicable law.

Lifetime Access purchase

Discreet may offer a one-time, non-consumable in-app purchase called Lifetime Access. The price shown in the app is the price presented by Apple for your storefront at the time of purchase. Lifetime Access unlocks the paid features made available for that product in the current Discreet app; it is not a subscription and does not promise that every future feature, platform, or separate product will be included.

Payment, purchase authorization, receipts, refunds, and applicable taxes are handled by Apple under its App Store terms. Where enabled by Apple, Family Sharing is subject to Apple’s eligibility and account rules. You can use Apple’s restore-purchases functionality for an eligible Apple Account.

Your journal and device

Discreet is designed to store journal content locally on your device. You are responsible for maintaining access to your device, protecting it with appropriate security controls, and keeping any backups you require. Deleting the app, erasing or losing the device, device failure, or operating-system changes may result in permanent data loss. Discreet does not operate a cloud journal service that can recover local entries.

Not medical or professional advice

Discreet is a personal journaling tool. Transcriptions, prompts, summaries, and observations are not medical, mental-health, legal, financial, or other professional advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Do not use the app for emergencies. If you may be in danger or need urgent help, contact local emergency services or a qualified professional.

Acceptable use

Do not misuse Discreet, attempt to interfere with its operation, bypass purchase controls, reverse engineer it except where applicable law expressly permits, or use it in a way that violates another person’s rights or applicable law.

Ownership and license

Discreet, including its software, design, and branding, is protected by intellectual-property laws. Your purchase gives you a personal, limited, non-transferable license to use the app through the App Store, subject to these terms and Apple’s Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement. You retain responsibility for and any rights you hold in journal content you create.

Availability and warranties

We work to keep Discreet reliable, but features may depend on compatible Apple hardware, operating-system capabilities, downloaded on-device models, or Apple services. To the fullest extent permitted by law, the app is provided “as is” and “as available,” without guarantees that it will always be uninterrupted, error-free, or compatible with every device or future operating-system version. Nothing in these terms excludes consumer rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Discreet’s developers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of local journal content, arising from use of or inability to use the app. Any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded remains limited only to the extent permitted by applicable law.

Changes and termination

We may update the app or these terms to reflect feature, legal, or operational changes. The effective date above identifies the current version. You may stop using Discreet at any time. We may discontinue the app or particular features where reasonably necessary, subject to applicable law and App Store requirements.
